PTSD-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Treatment of PTSD at Tahoe Neuro Healing is a combination of therapies based upon scientific research of PTSD and integrated with a Holistic approach.

The USA Department of Defense and the Veteran’s Administration have been researching acupuncture and other non-conventional therapies with excellent results. Two such therapies are Acupuncture and the Interactive Metronome. Another therapy with positive research by various countries and medical institutions is essential oils. To read some of the research studies visit my research section.

Our therapy protocol also includes support for brain health by laboratory tests to identify pro-inflammatory foods, food antigens causing antibody production that damage the brain and harmful environmental substances to be eliminated. As well as we include dietary changes and nutrticeutical supplementation to nourish the brain. Some supplements are natural anti-inflammatories which replace steroid medications thus no side effects.

Research also indicates excellent results from meditation and Qi Gong (a form of physical exercise). Our patients are provided instruction in both these disciplines. Patients with difficulty meditating or who have physical limitations can utilize our Visual & Sound therapy to induce the brain waves of the meditative and Qi Gong state of conciousness.

This is an extensive database of treatments, diagnosis, educational materials, etc.

The following link will take you to the PILOTS database located at the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs website. There’s instructions on how to use the database and the search criteria.
