Anemia & Polycythemia

Anemia

Are you dealing with the following? If so, I can help.

Feel tired or fatigue despite eating a very health diet?
Do blood tests consistently indicate anemia?
You take an Iron supplement and it has a temporary positive effect and over time the anemia reoccurs?
Are you not able to take an Iron supplement without experiencing nausea?
Are you taking an Iron supplement and it as not improved your lab tests?

Anemia is caused by the body not producing enough red blood cells and producing them is more complex than an taking an Iron supplement. There are several biological processes that must function well to create the environment for RBC’s to be produced and those varied processes require an assortment of nutrients and activation.

Our services provides an extensive review of these systems and processes to find the root cause and then develop a treatment plan to “build blood” and along the way address various symptoms: Headaches, fatigue, foggy thinking, poor concentration, amenorrhea, dizziness and more,

Polycythemia

Are you doing everything you can to management of your condition and reduce your dependentcy upon medications and living with their side effects?

Management of blood viscosity It is imperative for the prevention of heart attack, stroke and kidney issues hence you maybe taking a blood thinner or anticoagulant. Yet, did you know that there natural substances and nutrients that can improve your blood viscosity to prevent ‘clotting’?

Acupuncture, natural medicinals and appropriate diet can improve circulation, reduce blood pressure and stabilize arrhythmias. As well, these therapies can reduce the symptoms that occur between pheboty sessions. Those symptoms include:
Headache
• Sweating
• Ringing in the ears
• Blurred vision or blind spots
• Dizziness or vertigo
• Reddish or purplish skin
• Unexpected weight loss
• Bleeding or clotting
• Early feeling of fullness (satiety)
• Itching (pruritis), especially after the shower
• Burning and redness of the hands or feet
• Tiredness (fatigue)
• Night sweats

Balance Disorders

Are you experiencing Vertigo?

Have you been diagnosed with vertigo and the symptoms or medication’s side effects are negatively impacting your performance or activities of daily living?

Have you been diagnosed and treated for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) and still are experiencing symptoms?

Are you experiencing dizziness and vertigo and seek a natural remedy or assisted management?

Has you sense of balance declined or you have lessening coordination?
Has your ability to balance become unpredictable?

Has a neurological test confirmed the above and you were told there is no treatment?

Are you seeking to exhaust all possible assessments and  treatments to improve your condition?

Acupuncture, diet and nutraceuticals can help!

Did you know that the current research has determined a group of autoimmune diseases that damages the area of the brain responsible for coordination and a few critical neurological processes needed for correct brain function? Most importantly for you, the patient, the research has linked this to people who are gluten sensitive. Also, patients who are gluten sensitive can have intermittent ‘flare ups’ of their vertigo or difficulty balancing when exposed to gluten!

Have us assess your case to determine if gluten sensitivity is a likely factor of your disorder, the testing and treatments that are available.

Gluten Sensitivity & Advanced Testing

Gluten sensitivity is an autoimmune disease that creates inflammation throughout the body,  with wide-ranging effects across all organ systems including your brain, heart, joints, digestive tract, and more. It can be the single cause behind many different “diseases.” To correct these diseases, you need to treat the cause–which is often gluten sensitivity–not just the symptoms.

A recent review in the New England Journal of Medicine listed fifty-five (55) diseases that can be caused by eating gluten. It cited osteoporosis, irritable bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease, anemia, cancer, fatigue, canker sores, (v) and rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and almost all other autoimmune disease and many of the diseases are neurological and psychiatric.  Among them are depression, schizophrenia, epilepsy, migraines, neuropathy, anxiety, dementia, and autism.

The following are to sections on this website that discuss the gluten issues. Below is a 7 minute video by Mark Hyman MD discussing “Gluten: What You Don’t Know May Kill You”. And below are links to research and an article.

Hypertension

Hypertension medications can have unpleasant and sometimes harmful side effects. Are you experiencing these common side effects: fatigue, dizziness, weakness, headache and/or joint pain, sleep problems, cold hands and feet, edema or depression?

Many patients are prescribed these medications because they have not been properly educated to make ALL of the necessary dietary and life style changes to correct their blood pressure. Would you like to know what to do and make those changes?

Many studies have shown that acupuncture is an effective modality that lowers blood pressure without harmful side effects. Below are links to a few research studies for your review.

At our practice we assess many factors that impact blood pressure which are not reviewed by conventional medical practices such as dietary excitotoxin and environmental toxin exposures, neuroendocrine and psychological issues.

Treatment protocols use acupuncture, nutrition, essential oils and “at home” acupressure all of which will work with your medications.

If your goal is to take control of you blood pressure to reduce or eliminate the necessity for hypertension medications or for prevention of heart attack or stroke contact our office.

MS Support

Unknown to many is the recent research that has determined gluten can trigger a sequence of events that cause autoimmunity against the Blood Brain Barrier, selective brain tissues (myelin and cerebellum) and neurotransmitter reuptake (synapsin) all of which that results in brain altered function and degeneration. (Read Damage and Diseases Caused by Gluten).

If you have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, it may be necessary for you to stop eating gluten and other foods that trigger the gluten immune response because it can damage the blood brain barrier. Myelin Project that is researching the causes and treatments of MS determined a breach of the blood brain barrier is a component of MS and that treatment requires the restoration of the BBB to arrest the disease advancement.

Scalp Acupuncture and Neuro-Acupuncture can help! Research has determined acupuncture can reduce the activity of the brain’s local immune cells that damage the myelin. Also, acupuncture can stimulate the motor cortex to assist neuron activity which leads to improved motor function. See the research listed below.

The integrity of the blood brain barrier, a vast blood vessel system that supplies blood to the brain, can be restored by eliminating environmental compounds and reducing inflammation along with administration of nutraceuticals that rebuild the blood vessels.

Contact our offices to schedule an appointment to have your case assessed, discuss the various tests for blood brain barrier damage, gluten sensitivity, autoimmunity and the available treatments and assistance to management your condition. Below are videos by the myelin Project.

This screening is designed to help you look at your thoughts and behaviors that may be associated with eating disorders. This screening is not a substitute for assessment and/or treatment by a qualified professional. All of your answers will be kept confidential. Please answer completely. You may contact the NEDA Helpline for any  questions related to this screening.

Our offices provides adjunct modalities, therapy and lab tests to support persons through all stages of their recovery process. Recent research has determined that many people can be addicted to wheat and/or dairy products. This addiction when unknown can be a powerful influence upon a patients emotional stability. If you are addicted to wheat or dairy and stop eating it you can experience withdrawal symptoms equally as powerful as withdrawal from other opiods’ such as morphine or heroin. Read Hazards of Gluten Addiction and Gluteomorphin and Ceseomorphin

Acupuncture impacts the neuroendocrine system and enhances mood by relieving anxiety, depression, inducing deep relaxation and activating Theta and Delta brain waves. Many describe a sense of wholeness and well being immediately. As well, it can stimulate appetite, reduce nausea and pain, increase circulation, metabolism and facilitate digestion.

The body has been depleted and stressed by the either under weight or over weight through poor nutrition, hence restoration with the finest supplements is necessary to facilitate mental activity, stabilize blood sugar and modulate overall body functions.
